There is no legal category within Costa Rican legislation literally called High Net Worth Divorce<\/i><\/span>The term is used in international practice to identify divorces in which the volume, nature, or structure of the estate introduces additional issues that require specialized attention.<\/span><\/p>\n

It's not just about determining how much a family owns.<\/p>\n

A divorce can become highly complex in terms of assets when there are commercial companies, business shares, high-value real estate, financial investments, trusts, assets located in different jurisdictions, family businesses, assets acquired before and during the marriage, business debts, personal guarantees, intellectual property, or structures through which certain assets are indirectly controlled.<\/p>\n
